If you want to make sure the Search box on the top right indicates which folder you are searching.

If youd like to always search within file contents for a specific folder navigate to that folder in File Explorer and open the Folder and Search Options On the Search tab select the Always search file names and contents option. Select Always search file names and contents only under What to search and then click OK. Click the Search tab in the Folder Options window.

For example select This PC to look in all devices and drives on your computer or select Documents to look only for files stored there. To start a search click or tap on it or if you prefer keyboard shortcuts press Ctrl F on your keyboard. The text search box changes to reflect your choice and Windows performs the search. Click in the Search field.

Open File Explorer from the taskbar or right-click on the Start menu and choose File Explorer then select a location from the left pane to search or browse. In the window that opens click on the Search tab select Always search file names and contents and click OK. Replace your phrase with whatever you are searching for You will see the colour of the text changes to light blue I assume this means Windows recognises this as a specific instruction.

Open File Explorer to a specific folder that you want to search. Turn on Option To Search Through File Contents Click the Cortana or Search button or box on the Taskbar and type indexing options Then click on. When I do my search I get pdf files Excel files and everything else.
